For the past 3 years I have traveled on average to 13 countries per year! That is a lot of check-ins, hours sitting on planes and visiting airports all over the world but also a lot of time invested in finding the cheapest deals online to travel. Booking your plane tickets and accommodations remain the two most expensive aspects of traveling. So how can you find cheap travel deals in order to save some money you could invest in activities during your stay? This is what I will break down for you in this article.

I already wrote a few articles related to that topic that I will link throughout this article, so check them out.

If you have no idea of how to travel often and plan your trips, have a look at these blog posts I wrote that show you step by step how I have planned my vacations with social media and how I’ve managed to travel at least once a month for 3 years while I was working a 9to5 corporate job.

My go-to websites for booking cheap flights are Skyscanner, Google Flights and TripValet. You can find more information and my step by step approach to looking for cheap flight deals online in the following links below.

Now, my go to websites for accommodations are:

TripValet

I have used TripValet for a bit more than a year and I am still amazed by the amazing offers available. But contrary to most search engines, this is NOT one.

It is a members-only platform that gives you access to insider deals on various means of travel! If you are planning to travel locally or abroad at least 2 to 3 times this year, TripValet will save you a LOT of money!

You will most likely make it back in savings on your first trip!

If you’d like to learn more, have a look at this blog post.

Agoda

I discovered and mostly used Agoda while traveling in South East Asia. The deals they offered were just unbelievable! I traveled with my girlfriend at that time (now wife!), backpacking from the North of Thailand to the Islands in the South and Indonesia! We did not plan our itinerary and did not book any accommodation in advance. This is actually the way I love to travel. Go to a place, see how it feels, and make the decision to stay for a while or leave the next day!

travel, holidays, accomodation, Agoda

And Agoda was the perfect travel companion. We managed to book last minute deals with up to 70% discount! We stayed only at places with Rooftop swimming pools or infinity pools! That was the main amenities we required to stay at a place! Without it, I don’t believe we would have found better offers during our 3 weeks backpacking trip.

Here are a few examples to give you an idea:

Hotel Royal Bangkok China Town

1 night for 2 adults - 54 €

agoda

Tirta Arum, Ubud, Bali

4 nights for 2 adults - 151€

Agoda

Booking.com

I also love using Booking.com! Now more than ever because I benefit from the frequent traveler genius discount. It works the same way as Agoda but I always use it to compare prices.

I have used it for more than 3 years and still enjoy using it. The user interface is very friendly, they have a mobile application which makes it very easy to manage my travels. Upon arrival at my hotel, I just have to show the booking confirmation on my phone, no need to carry any other documents with me.

Finally, the most savings you can make are with travel loyalty cards, so if you are traveling a lot I’d recommend you to register to some of them.

By using them you will be able to earn points every time you use them at registered partners on accommodation, restaurants and travels. You will then be able to redeem these points to book your next holiday.

I personally use American Express Gold. The annual fee may seem a bit high, but it offers benefits that help justify the fee such as a $100 airline fee credit. The Chase Sapphire is the ultimate travel card, but unfortunately is not available for non-US citizens…

That is it when it comes to finding the cheapest online deals to travel. I hope this will help you save some money on your next holiday! It requires some research but once you will familiarise yourself with it, it will be very easy and just a matter of 10 minutes to find a good deal!

What about you? Do you have any travel tips to book cheap flights and accommodations for your holidays?

As always, If you liked this blog post, do not hesitate to like it, it actually makes a difference, and if you know anyone that could benefit from it, feel free to share it with them.
