Are you looking for a way to grow your small business online?

Whether you are a creative entrepreneur, an e-commerce store owner, a blogger, a content creator. If you work online, you need one thing, bring visitors to your website. And Pinterest is the platform the most underestimated.

Pinterest has over 200 million active users each month, making it the third-largest social network in the United States.

But if you’re thinking about creating a new account for your business and pinning a few images to your page to bring traffic to your website, think again.

Pinterest users are on the platform for one reason: to find inspiration.

They’re not there to see what their friends are up to or scroll through memes.

They’re browsing for ideas on how to make their lives better or more fulfilling.

Unlike other social media platforms, Pinterest offers a variety of ways to promote your business. These methods range from free to paid, and each brings a different set of benefits.

In a previous article I shared with you how you could use Pinterest as a small business owner to promote your business online and bring more visitors to your website.

In this article we will focus on using Tailwind app which allows you to automate the pinning process and free up your time.

What is Tailwind app and how it can help you generate traffic from Pinterest

Tailwind is a scheduling tool that will keep you active on Pinterest 24/7.

We all know that Pinterest is a visual platform and it works best when pinning frequently.

By using tools like Tailwind, you can schedule pins to be shared from your blog or website at regular intervals. This keeps the flow of traffic coming in for the long term rather than just once the post or article is shared.

One of the best things about Tailwind is that it also makes sure to only share your content where it’s going to be seen, which helps with engagement.

How to market and advertise your business on Pinterest with Tailwind app

1. Install the Tailwind button

Once you’ve signed up for Tailwind, you’ll need to install the Tailwind Chrome Extension so that you can easily schedule pins right from the Pinterest website. It will also allow you to track which pins have been repined and the total number of repins.

2. Join Tailwind tribes or communities (and share, share, share)

Tribes (or communities now) are groups where you can share your own pins and re-pin content you find interesting within a niche-specific group. Tribes are free to join, but some are invite-only so that people don't spam them.

If you're not yet using tribes to increase your reach on Pinterest, here's how to get started:

sign into your Tailwind account and click on the "Tribes" tab or now “communities”

Then click "Discover" to find some relevant tribes to join.

You'll have the option to search for communities by keyword or category, like food or travel.

3. Create specific boards for your business

This is actually something that most Pinterest users already do, but it's worth reminding you to create specific boards for your business so that you can share certain images or types of content with specific audiences.

For example, if you run an ecommerce store selling fashion products, you might want to create individual boards for different categories of products, or even just separate boards for men and women's fashion.

4. Analyze and improve your performance with the Tailwind dashboard

Tailwind's powerful analytics and reporting features will help you easily track your progress, detect trends, and identify opportunities to grow and improve your Pinterest presence.

Track Your Performance

Tailwind's Dashboard makes it easy to track the performance of your Pins over time. You can see how many people are seeing your Pins, how many times they're being saved, and how much traffic they're sending to your site.

Track Your Progress

See how your efforts are paying off by tracking your follower count, repins, viral impressions, reach and engagement over time.

Why choose Tailwind?

  1. You can get information on how your pins are doing.

  2. Tailwind tribes can make your content more visible.

  3. Tailwind makes it simple to schedule a large number of pins at once.

  4. Tailwind has an impact on your Pinterest analytics.

  5. Tailwind helps you reach the right audience for your business.

Tailwind is a powerful tool for small businesses and bloggers. A powerful tool to grow your traffic from Pinterest.

Tailwind helps you maximize your time on Pinterest by scheduling Pins and getting them shared across multiple boards at the best times of day. You can also manage all your boards and collaborate with others in one place.

Did I mention it's free to try!

Pinterest is popular and it's not going away anytime soon. The good news is that Pinterest is a social platform that's actually built for marketers. It's the only social network where people go specifically to plan for their future purchases—in fact, 93% of pinners use Pinterest to make purchase decisions!

Tailwind is a great way to help you get started on Pinterest marketing today, and it's a lot easier than you think. Users who use it as their scheduler see more than 3 times the repins compared to other tools.

Even better, it includes Pin Inspector, an automated tool that gives you the feedback you need to create high-performing pins and boards.

Meaning that you can recycle the same content over and over again by creating new pins for your best performing content. No need to create new content.

The best part? You can try out all Tailwind features for free for a month!

After completing your trial, you can choose the best plan for your needs and upgrade your Tailwind subscription within your dashboard.

My personal experience

It took me a couple months to get my hands on how to use Tailwind the right way. It is not just a matter of creating pins and scheduling them. This might get you some visits to your website but if you limit yourself to this, you won’t get much results.

Instead, invest your time in finding the right communities and share, share, share!

I upgraded to the Tailwind Plus membership which should be the equivalent to the Advanced Plan nowadays.

It gives me access to unlimited communities and about 200 submissions per month.

This allowed me to test out as many communities as I wanted and keep the best performing one for my niche.

What I love is that there is no competition on this app. It is really focused on building communities of creators striving for the same goals. You scratch my back, I scratch yours and we grow together.

If I had to start from scratch here is what I’d do:

  • Setup my Pinterest account for business from the start [Full Guide Here]

  • Find the right communities for my niche(s) on Tailwind

  • upgrade my membership to be part of many tribes to expand my reach

  • focus on creating content that get the most shares

  • recycle content that brings the most traffic to my website

  • share, share and share more than I pin

I hope that helps!
