But, not everyone is willing to do it ethically and the right way. Many people will fall into the get rich quick schemes telling you that you do not need any training and that you will be able to make money overnight.

I am sorry to break your dreams, but unless you have a huge advertising budget with a great product to promote that answers to a problem people are facing, it won’t happen.

What you need is to first, understand how social media works.

Each social media platform is different and you need to find the one that fits you. But once you know the blueprint, you can apply it as much as you want. In this article, I will give you the social media blueprint you need to get started making money online with social media today.

In order to be successful with your online business, you just need to know these core fundamentals to help you be successful. You may not know yet which career you want, or if you do, that may change over time. All of them lead back to the core principles of building an online business.

The question you need to answer if you are getting started is what do you need to go from your initial state today to where you want to be in the future.

And the answer to that question can be broken down with these five core fundamentals of social media marketing.

Funnels

It is the process that a client, customer, viewer gets taken through from the first time they see your brand or product all the way to a sale being made. A funnel is broken down in 4 steps:

  • Awareness: the prospect gets the first touch with your brand

  • Consideration: The prospect gets to know your brand a little bit more

  • Lead: the prospect is interested in your offer and is taking that first action before buying

  • Sale: The lead buys your product or service

Traffic

it is another word for viewers, visitors or customers. The way we get traffic is usually from popular platforms like Instagram, facebook, Pinterest, linked, etc… Building traffic is what most online business struggle the most with.

You can either do it organically, using content marketing and social media or you can do it using paid advertising like Google Ads, Facebook Ads , LinkedIn Ads, etc… There are many marketing techniques that can be used to generate traffic.

You just need to find the one that matches with your business needs.

Leads

Now that you know what is a sales funnel, in your opinion at what level of the funnel will it be easier to get people to take an action related to buying your product?

If the answer is Lead, you are correct.

And the best way to get leads is to create what is called a lead magnet. Any successful online business owner collects emails from their traffic on their website. Anytime someone would visit your website or social media channel, there is always a way for the business owner to ask for your email and give you something for free in return that answer to your problem.

Lead magnets can have several format like free guide, ebook, video, sample, etc…

It is up to you as a business to create it and use it to attract the right customer.

Sales 

Repeat customers and loyal customers are the key to a successful business. Without clients, there are no sales, without any sale, you have no business.

The client that knows, likes and trusts you because you treat them right are your everything. These customers will continue to buy from you, no matter what the product you put in front of them. In marketing lingo, they are called your warm audience. Versus cold audience who are the people at the awareness level who have no idea of who you are and what you do.

Branding

This is where you present yourself, service or company. It is an important part to the core fundamentals as we look to build the legacy brand here. Meaning that you build that rapport with your audience forever where you have loyal followers, clients and buyers.

To recap: People see you on social media, they love what you do, want to get more information about your brand, they learn about your vision and what you are all about and want in before they become paying customers or clients.

It does not matter if you have your own product, if you are an affiliate marketer, or an online coach. This process belongs to you. This is your long term legacy business.

This process will build you a long term sustainable business.
