How Airbnb Has Helped Me To Travel The World?
One thing every successful entrepreneur knows is that:
1. You need to think outside the box
2. You need to have several streams of income and not only rely on one like most people do
A great book I read that opened my eyes to the way I manage my finance is "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki. If you have not read it yet and are planning on running a business soon or later, I highly recommend you to read it.
Traveling can be expensive depending on the type of travelers you are. I started as a budget traveler and now tend to go more towards luxury travels as I get older and enjoy my comfort. I still don't mind staying at hostels and backpacking from time to time though.
But one question many people have asked me is how I managed to make money to travel so often and go to so many destinations?
The answer is simple, I've worked online as an affiliate marketer promoting the services of companies I am an ambassador for. If you would like to learn more about how I did it, you can access the 7-day social media bootcamp I followed to learn how to earn a living with social media right here.
I am also a brand ambassador for a company called TripValet that offer travel, accommodation and experiences online discount that beat all competition. You can read about them in that article that I wrote.
And I promote Airbnb as a guest and a host. If you have an Airbnb account you can refer friends but also your audience if you are a blogger or a social media influencer. Check out this article to learn more The Ultimate Airbnb Hosting Guide.
If you are a young adult, you are either a student or just starting your professional career. Am I right? I also was in your shoes and needed to finance my travels and buy my photography gear.
So I started promoting Airbnb to my friends and family and then through my website. And I would receive travel credit for everyone who signed up with my link at no extra cost for them. Then I saw the option of becoming a host.
So rather than keeping my room empty for the time I was traveling abroad, with sometimes my trip lasting up to 3 weeks. Why not put it on Airbnb for the time I am not there. And the money I made usually covered the expenses from my trip!
All of this combined allowed me to pay for my trips and photography gear and keep the salary I earned from my job to either pay-off my loans or invest it into another venture.
As said earlier, the biggest mistake people make is to rely on earned income, meaning exchanging their time against money and relying on only one stream of income.
Rich people rely on at least 7 streams of income! This way if one stream of income disappears from one day to another, you can still rely on the other 6 and create a new one.
How many do you have?
If the answer is one, and you want to be a successful online entrepreneur, it is time to start creating new streams.

Using all their tips have allowed me to be a 5 star rated host and have my calendar almost fully booked for the time I travel. It is a win-win for you as a host and your guests who need a place to stay. Here is an example of the month of May 2018 in my calendar!
My motto is
“Learn how to leverage technology in order to design your ideal lifestyle”
Making an income online and creating several streams of revenue is just a matter of thinking outside the box and seize opportunities everywhere you can.
Leveraging Airbnb has allowed me to travel, cover my travel expenses and even invest in new business ideas or camera gear I needed for my photography business. I also leverage Airbnb as a host for experiences where I teach people how to use their smartphone and dslr cameras to take better photos.
